It's Fun to be One

We celebrated Allison's 1st birthday this evening with some family and close friends.
Unfortunately our little Roo has been sick the past few days, and all she really wanted to do during her party was go to bed!!  But despite the poor Birthday Girl not feeling well, we had a fun evening!

The Birthday Crown
~
She will get to wear this every year for her birthday!  Every little girl deserves to be a princess for her special day!!

(wow, her bangs are getting so long, huh!!  Not gonna cut them though.....!!)

Hopefully next year (& the years after that), she'll keep it on!!

Her Loot

She got a Build-a-Bear Ballerina Bunny from Grandma!

Cam had to check out her new cell phone.

Her Butterfly Birthday Cake.  It wasn't spectactular....but it was made with love!!  Hopefully by the time my kids are old enough to realize their cakes are made by mom and dad....we'll be better at them!!!  Cam still talks about his basketball cake we made him last year.....and he already talks about the train cake he wants for his next birthday.  I'm already planning a bird cake for Allie's 2nd birthday.  Growing up, my mom always made our cakes, and I knew I wanted to do the same for my children.  It's a fun tradition!!

The hesitant first finger-dip into the frosting.
Poor Roo.  I wish she had been feeling better.  She loved the cake, but after a few measly bites, she just wanted her bed!

Well, Happy Birthday my sweet Allie Jane.  Thank you for bringing so much love and joy to our family!!!  You and your brother are our entire lives.....all that Daddy & I do is for you.

Sweet punkin Roo.

I love that you make her cake and the tiara idea is precious.....to look back one day and know she wore it every year. Great job, Mom!
