My Boy & My Scriptures

This dude......

......is potty-trained.

I'm so happy.  It was 100% his decision....I wasn't going to even bring it up again until this Summer.
Phew, that was easy!!  I'm on Cloud Nine about it.  One kid in diapers....awesome.

I love Nate.  Wanna read something awesome about him?  Why he rocks?  Go Here....to his awesome sister's blog.  I wish I had half the relationship with my brothers that Nate has with his sisters.

So....

I've been so busy working with Cam, that I spaced what day it was yesterday!  Tuesday!!

I love my scriptures.  I got my current set when I graduated from High School.  They have been through so much with me since then!!  They went to college with me, where I took amazing religion classes and grew to love the scriptures more than ever.  I clung to them for support and inspiration during the year between college and my mission.  And in Korea, my scriptures were my best friend, my rock.  They were my familiar constant while I was surrounded by a new culture, new language, and new people.  Reading them every morning was what got me through the scary first few months in Korea.  When I got home, I clung to them once again while I navigated through some tough times and looked for guidance and peace.  Since getting married, I have continued to search and study them for ways to be a better wife & mother.

I never want to get another set.  They are stuffed full of notes from my friends, roommates, elders & sisters from my mission.....they are full of thoughts and ideas I have had over the past 10 years, quotes from inspirational talks given by Church leaders.  I love them.

I know the scriptures are true.  The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ.  It is powerful, and the Plan of Salvation that is taught on the pages of this book brings me hope and peace every day.
The Old & New Testaments are amazing to read along side the Book of Mormon.  I love learning about the covenants and promised blessings for those who remain righteous and faithful.  Studying the life of Christ always makes me want to be better and be more like Him.
I am loving the Doctrine & Covenants.  I have said this before, but it just brings the reality of obedience vs disobedience to a whole new level for me.
I am grateful for ancient prophets who sacrificed greatly to record and protect the revelations and knowledge they received from our Loving Heavenly Father.  And I'm grateful for the prophet Joseph Smith for his vital role in restoring the Gospel and translating the Book of Mormon.  I look at my scriptures and am amazed at what it has taken over thousands of years for them to be sitting on my table.  It's easy to treat them lightly, and I strive to keep their sacredness a top priority in my life.

Way to go on the potty training. Awesome! We just finished with our 3rd and it feels good. And, sad, all at the same time. No more babies. :(

I enjoy reading about your faith and your committment to God. While I'm a devout Catholic, I have such respect for the Mormon religion. There is a strength and belief there I don't see often, even in Catholicism. You're inspiring!
