I've been putting Roo's piggies at the back of her head lately. This morning, I put them on top again.
Wow, her hair has sure grown....they're starting to look a little crazy on top now!
See that tear under her eye? Doing her hair has become an absolute fight! She screams & hits....I win every time. Sorry Roo.
Last night, Cam was trying to get Allie to go with him to her room. He started yelling, "Allison James, Allison James.....!!" I told him her name is Allison Jane....he said, "No Mom, it's Allison James."
Looks like someone has been playing with his James train a little too much!!
Here's a little story to gross you all out:
Last night I was talking with my favorite-est mission companion, Megan Melver. Out of the entire 18 months, the 10 weeks that I was with her were by far the craziest, funniest, and most memorable. Everything happened to us. We have more stories from those 10 weeks than I have the rest of my mission combined. One day, a lady served us chicken feet. Yes, chicken feet. Toes, bones, skin.....with a lovely sauce over top. The toes were all curled up. I believe they were steamed?? My heart was racing as the lady brought them out from her kitchen. My hands were shaking as I delicately picked one of them up with my chopsticks. I closed my eyes, shoved a foot in, chewed and swallowed. It was awful. Crunchy, cartillage-y, so so bad. I can't even explain. I shoved so much rice in my mouth to wash it down. I could only eat one. Melver....she had EIGHT. That's 4 chickens.
After we left, she turned to me and said,
"I can run faster than you because I have more feet."
(I still get tears in my eyes from laughing with her!!)

I'm eating a sandwich while I read this. Gulp.
No sympathy from me, DeAnn....I ate the foot!! You must have some pretty fun stories from Holland....I know you do!!
All the hair stuff - see I was right wasn't I? Keep winning the fight. If you let her win once you will have to fight World War 3 to win again. This fight is worth fighting every day.
Your mission story - there are no words. :)
Megan sounds like a ton of fun.
You should think about a post including all of the crazy things you've eaten.
Did you ever refuse? What is the etiquette? I'm sure you were weary of being impolite in a foregin country.
Would be interesting!
Yay, love the questions, Casey!!
No, we never refused...atleast not the first bite! It's considered pretty dis-respectful to decline food, especially because most of the time, they would have spent a lot of $$ and time preparing it. MOST Korean food is insanely awesome. In fact, we're eating Korean on Saturday night and can hardly wait! In the entire 18 mo there, the 3 worse things I ate were: Chicken feet, mudfish, and fish eggs. Nope, Dog didn't even make the top list, it wasn't THAT bad. Koreans don't eat nearly as much seafood as I thought they did, thank heavens. I don't love most seafood. They eat a lot of beef and pork and mostly veggies and rice. There is a reason Asians are so healthy!!
And yes, Tristan, you were right!
What a good sport! I don't think I could have eaten more than one! I want to hear some more fun stories from you mission :)
The chicken feet story is funny!
