Winter Blues

We have had a pretty empty calendar lately, so I have about a zillion playdates set up for Cameron.  He really thrives on being social and busy.  He loves his friends, and I love watching him interact with them.  All of their little conversations are so hilarious.  I'm not a very creative mom, so I struggle in the Winter with ways to keep him busy.  If he's busy and stimulated, then he's obedient and happy.  If he's bored, then we fight and cry, and I feel like a horrible mother. 

I think I need to move somewhere warmer so my kids can be outside all year.  Literally 80-90% of my childhood memories are of the outdoors.  I think Cam & I have a similar need for that fresh air and that freedom.  He loves to be outside.  The great outdoors is a child's best friend!

I remember exploring our yard, catching grasshoppers (eww, can't touch them now though!), playing in forts, wandering around with my dog, playing pretend games, hours and hours of gardening with my parents & siblings, biking, jumping on the trampoline, playing tennis or basketball on our sportcourt, picking daffodils, hours of working in our garden......I love these memories.  I had such a happy childhood.

So as Winter drags on, we're doing our best to ride it out and waiting for Spring!!  Picture time!!

So Cam is supposed to be in Time-Out in these next pictures.....I should have forced him to sit still like he's supposed to.....but I just grabbed my trusty camera instead!!

Well Cam, no matter how long the days can seem, and no matter how bored we both can get being stuck indoors, I LOVE YOU Dude!!!  You are my best buddy, and I promise that as soon as that sun starts shining again, I'll take you outside all day, every day......and hey, if you want to join in on the quest to convince Daddy to get a job away from the cold & snow, I'd appreciate the help!!!
