Sunday Sweets & Birthday Cakes

We have had a BUSY weekend!  Nate's sisters are all in town, so we have been spending lots of time with them.  Friday was Cam's actual 4th birthday.  Hard to believe that it was 4 years ago that we welcomed him into our lives, I remember that evening like it just happened!

Cam has a cutie friend named Camille, here in the village, and her birthday is July 9 too (just 2 years younger).  Her mom made some birthday cupcakes, so we had a little mini-celebration with some of their friends on Friday morning.
We got him this new basketball jersey for his birthday.

On Friday afternoon I took the kids to the Sugarhouse Farmer's Market, and then we headed over to Nate's parent's house to see Missy & her family.  I love watching Cam play with his cousins!  On Saturday morning, we all met up at Wheeler Farm for Wood family pictures.  It was fun to have the entire family together for the first time in a few years.  I can't wait to see how they turned out!  We had lunch at Red Robin, hung out for the afternoon, and then headed down to Nate's cousin's baby shower in Provo for a BBQ.

Sunday Sweets are up next!  I say it every week, but I just love Sundays.  My kids don't behave any better on Sundays, and my house isn't any cleaner....but there is still always just a sense of relaxation and peace that I look forward to all week long.  Today was Roo's first real week in Nursery.  It didn't go well....unless we stayed with her.  Hopefully a few more weeks, and she'll get used to it.

Pretty, pretty little girl.

This is what Roo does if you say "Scripture Power"!

Matching Ties.  Handsome Boys

After Church we toiled over Cam's birthday cake.  It stresses me out because I'm not good at tedious tasks like frosting a cake....but he was SO excited!!  I figure I can handle this a few times a year!!  Cam got a basketball-themed cake for the 2nd year in a row.  All his request, of course!!  He told us exactly how he wanted this layed out and what words to put.

Birthday Boy!  Headed over to the Wood's again for a HUGE party!  Today is Nate's dad's birthday, so lots of partying left to do!

On Monday & Tuesday, Grandma & Grandpa Wood are treating the older grandkids to fun things like Jumping Jacks bounce house and taking them to Toy Story 3 (Cam's never been to a theater before, should be interesting!!), along with swimming and sleepovers.  These weeks have been CRAZY, and I have no doubts that Cam is exhausted....between hiking and Glenwood and parties all over Utah!!  But he's a happy little kid, and nothing could make me happier than to watch him have fun and be with his family & friends!

Sounds like fun. I can't believe Cameron is 4 already and that Allie is old enough to go to Nursery! Crazy.

Happy Birthday to Cameron. I'd better get thinking about Isaac's big day--it's sneaking up on me.

Ok....so the cake was REALLY ghetto-looking (like all of my kids' birthday cakes are turning out to be). But at his party, Cam was SO excited to eat the piece with the basketball on it. We handed it to him, and the poor kid turned around and dropped it on the grass! He started sobbing, and it was slightly heartbreaking! Poor thing had to "settle" for the piece with the C on it.
