Our home is constantly a work in progress. We are allowed to paint here, but you have to paint it back before you move out or pay a hefty fee....and neither of those sound worth it to us! Anyway, I've been wanting to create a picture wall in our bedroom...without making too many holes (yet another rule here). So I came up with this little display using some of my most favorite pictures ever. It's pretty ghetto-looking still....I'd ultimately love to have a master bedroom painted light blue and use chocolate brown mini-clothespins to clip these on. That would look much better. But this will have to do for now! Oh well!! I love staring at these pictures at night...they mean the world to me.
**Updated picture with smaller clothes pins...hoping to paint them soon!**
Nate is taking his LAST final right now....and then he's got his Bachelor Degree!! I'm so proud of him, it's been a loooong road to get here! Two semesters of the Teaching Program left, and then we're DONE!!!
Every day, Cameron says, "Mom, let's live in Tennessee and get a dog. Two dogs and a cat. And I want to play basketball in my yard."
Well, August is going to be an exciting month. I get my man (kids get daddy) for two whole weeks, our TN trip is coming up, I start babysitting again, and we close out August with a bang....JOHN MAYER concert on the 31st!!! I am so excited. SO excited!!!

Becca,
That is SO cute! I might have to steal that idea since all the walls in our house are know all cinder block. You could paint the clothes pins. I've got a bunch of paint if you need any and don't want to spend the money. I love this idea. Thanks for sharing.
Steal away, Kari! I stole it from a magazine (although it was MUCH cuter in the magazine!). I should paint the clothes pins....duh! I'll talk to you more about it when I see you outside next!!
Ok first of all, I hear ya cluckin' big chicken! Second of all, I had to laugh at the things you want and the things you think are ghetto!
My boys have bunk beds and I hate them. Changing sheets is extremely difficult and annoying. Plus, Gwen is always climbing up the ladder but she can't climb back down so I'm always having to rescue her and then take the ladder off and put it on the top bed and wonder at night why Gavin won't just get into bed already!
I want plastic drawers for my boys. We bought them a nice dresser from Target (say it Tar-szhay it sounds more exotic!). They have destroyed it. The drawers are unrepairable after being repaired 500 times. One drawer sits on the floor full of Parker's T-shirts while another drawer has no bottom to it anymore.
Maybe this is why we aren't supposed to covet. The greener grass may be nothing but a patch of weeds.
As for your photo collage - that's super cute. I have a similar collage. But I put the photos on foam core board and sticky tacked the squares to the wall.
Yeah I don't necessarily want nice furniture for my kids...they can have the plastic drawers...I just can't wait until Nate & I have a decent master bedroom that doesn't make us want to cry!
So proud of Nate! And, you, too......you're a big part of that accomplishment, so don't forget that.
I love the picture wall. Well done. Use your creativity until you can afford more. You'll love it either way!
Isaac saw the picture of Cameron playing BB and said, "I want to go there."
Just like you are doing, SAVE, SAVE, SAVE! It will be worth it! Paying cash for everything is the way to go! We had the same 1974 couch since the day we got married. Now I have a new one that I love and the old one is in the basement! I couldn't part with it. Not too much longer for you! Yay Nate!
Love your picture hanging! You are so good with taking pictures. I have not done anything with my walls yet. They are bare!
Becky, you are totally my hero and inspiration for getting the home of my dreams...I think about how you and Mark did it all the time...sacrifice, save, and pay cash. I agree, it's the ONLY way to do it. We will never make payments on anything but a home...no matter what.
Getting into a home is SO important to us. But it's going to take a short while to save up a good down payment....and then it's going to take longer to buy anything to put in it, haha!!
cute, cute! I think I will steal it from you, love it
I love your picture decoration Idea! Especially for small space and a lot of rules! It looks very CUTE! I too hope that we can one day move out of in-laws basement and be on our own, have Chris COMPLETELY done with school and so my kid can have a mommy and daddy!
