Glenwood Getaway - May 2011

The kids and I just got home from the first of hopefully several Glenwood getaways for Summer 2011.  During the long winters, I always forget how much I love it there.  We had such a relaxing weekend, even though it rained most of our trip.  Cameron and Grandpa were attached at the hip, busy with projects and 4-wheeling rides and fishing.  Cam caught a big trout that we ate for dinner one night, yum!  Cameron and Grandpa are a great team because neither of them ever slow down!!  I got to relax with some books, the Conference issue of the Ensign and a few naps.  We watched movies, played frisbee, rode horses, visited with Uncle Dick and Uncle Glen and our cousins, we played with animals and played baseball and Roo was on that swing for hours.  I love Glenwood because it really is out of the world...it's safe, small, quiet, quaint and peaceful.  Time slows down in Glenwood and all of the crazy, busy, worldly things in life truly take a backseat.  We have another trip planned for June, and we'll see if I can get down in July...the long drive is not easy on me right now!!  Cam will probably get to go again in August with Grandpa while I rest after Baby arrives.  The more Glenwood in our lives, the better!  Let us know if you ever want to join us!!!

Pictures from our weekend:

The new patio my dad has worked hard building.  It was fun to hang out there while it rained and have a picnic when it was sunny!

Beautiful Roo on the tree swing.

Happy Boy!!

Cam wore these work gloves all weekend so he could help Grandpa with all sort of projects.  Manly men!!

Roo soaking up the sun.

Jumping away at Uncle Glen's house

Riding a horse with cousin Carrie.

Cameron and cute Bailey

Lots of rides with Grandpa!!

I told Cameron we will make a paper chain tomorrow to count down until June 15 when we go back.  Can't wait!!  We came home to a clean house and a lonely Nate!!  Hope he can join us next time...
