I am soooo excited for Christmas! Six days left! I don't think I have ever been this excited for Christmas, even when I was a kid. I am just SO SO excited for my babies. I cannot wait to see their faces and hear their reactions. My friend Cassie came over the other day to wrap gifts with me. She's awesome, I love that girl! I've never really liked wrapping presents, but this year it was fun, being Santa. Cassie gave me some Dora wrapping paper she had found at the dollar store. Cam is finally branching out from Spiderman, on to Power Rangers and Iron Man. I loved choosing their gifts this year!! As usual, it's a simple Christmas for us, but definitely meaningful and luckily my kids are still at the ages where they are really easy to please! They are just as happy with silly bands and stickers as they would be with the fanciest toys in the store. I doubt it will always stay that way!! We have been talking to Cameron a lot this year about baby Jesus, and doing our best to keep the focus on what Christmas is really about. Obviously the excitement of Santa and presents under the tree are on Cam's mind, but we never want our Holidays to only be about that. Cam has such a sweet heart, and I've talked a lot to him about giving to others. I took him today to pick out a gift for Allie. He helped me wrap it and wrote her name on it. He is excited to watch her open it, and I am anticipating that watching the two of them interact like that on Christmas morning is going to make me cry!
We are blessed to have Claire with us this year. I was sick as could be last December, so I'm happy to have my little beauty with us now. We can't imagine our little family without her. (By the way, if I had gotten my way, her name would have been Lainey. But I'm glad Nate was persistent with Claire, because it fits her so perfectly!!) The other day, I was snuggling with her on the sofa, and suddenly she started staring up at the wall above me, where nothing was hanging. She kept smiling and cooing and just squirming with excitement. She would NOT stop. And it's been awhile, but she's actually done that before!! I showed Nate and said, "Um Honey, I think someone is there!" We joked that she's chatting with her little brother or sister, she misses them! Who knows?! Maybe it was Jesus? If it was, Cameron would be jealous because he wants to meet Jesus so so bad!
Her baby blue eyes seem to get more beautiful every day.
