Family Hike

I refused to spend another family Saturday sitting around our small apartment, and I begged Nate to go hiking.  I am sick of living here and rarely taking advantage of all the amazing hiking we have just within minutes of us!!  We drove up Big Cottonwood Canyon to Donut Falls.  We had a great time!  Cameron is an awesome hiker.  Claire babbled and smiled the entire time.  Poor Roo got a few scrapes from tripping over rocks, but she actually did a lot better than I thought she would!

I love being in the great outdoors with my little fam.  I feel so much more "at home" when I'm on a trail, surrounded by beautiful trees.  Out there, I fit in.  I am proud of who I am when I'm in this element.  My boring t-shirt wardrobe and lack of make-up suddenly fits perfectly!  I wish I could live in a cabin in the woods.  With a lot of dogs.  That would be perfect.

I'm sad the lighting was so poor for this picture.

Wow, you've been busy! Many blog posts to catch up on. Hiking with little kids is actually a lot more fun than I thought it would be. We have fun hiking trails near us but we don't go often enough.

I'm glad you were able to get out of the house on a Saturday. I have the same problem with weekends. I don't love that Heath is in so much pain and is still sick. It's been 6 weeks! Anyway, the one nice thing about him needing to rest is that we didn't spend the day grocery shopping and running errands. I took the kids to the splash pad as you saw. That was a fun diversion on a freaking hot day.
