So Nate and I have decided to go ahead and run/walk the half marathon next weekend. We both got notes to defer to next year's race, but after talking and thinking about it, we realized that we don't know where we'll be next year, and I could be pregnant by that time, maybe. So that's that.
I'm actually really relieved and excited. Even if we have to walk most of it, the atmosphere and experience of it all will be the same. I have gone running 3 times this week and feel really good, so I know I'll be able to run some of it. Either way, we'll be moving our bodies for 13.1 miles, so I'm NOT going to feel like a failure by not running the whole thing.
If anything, we'll look at it as a 3-hour date! We'll even get to hold hands! :)

Good for you Becca! I ran/walked my last half marathon in September because of an injury. It was still a lot of fun, and I'm glad that I did it. Enjoy your first half! Also, I have done 3 and there are always LOTS of walkers. It's nothing to be embarrassed about.
Good luck! You guys will do great.
