Running Highs

Two great runs this past week.

On Saturday, I was supposed to run 12 miles down the canyon, but of course Murphy came to visit and I had an awful night's sleep.  Seriously.  Every time I plan a long run, I don't sleep well the night before.  So I decided to do 6 instead and push my pace down the canyon.  I ended up running 6.2 miles in 59 minutes, which is a 9:35 pace.  This is NOT my usual pace, especially for an entire 6 miles!  I was hurting afterwards, but SO excited!  I'm improving!!

Second run was this morning.  A Trail run.  I. LOVE. TRAIL. RUNNING.
Staci took me up Dry Creek trail.  It was 1.5 miles of tough uphill.  I ran what I could, but it was really steep.  I haven't been doing a lot of uphill running lately, so I struggled.  But when we got to the top, the view was awesome.  And then we got to run back DOWN.  Wheee!  So fun.  Once I get my two upcoming races done, I want to start doing a lot more trails.  I LOVE being out in nature.  It is so much more fun than running through neighborhoods on the streets.  Borrring.

Fish Lake Relay this weekend!  Mt. Nebo half marathon two weeks after that!

Have I mentioned that I Heart Running?

Here is a picture of me during the Park City Trail Series 15K from 2 weeks ago.

PS.  I need trail shoes.  I am taking donations...
