Official Roomies

The kids have been doing an awesome job of sharing a room.  Definitely not going back!  Roo likes to wake up at 6:00 (or earlier) and sometimes they get mad at each other.  But sometimes they wake up laughing hysterically, which is adorable.  So they survived the 'trial week' and to make it official, I got Cam's name for the wall.  I ordered it from my mission friend's vinyl website HERE at Giggly Gumdrops.  Check it out, she has lots of cute stuff!

Roo texting Daddy.  Maybe. Either way, she's pretty and has an awesome Farmer's tan.

So we are wondering if Roo has eczema.  But we aren't sure.  Ever since she was really young, she scratches when she's tired or upset.  She does it in her sleep too.  It seems like she does it without realizing...sub-conciously.  Like a comfort thing.  Cameron did the same thing...he used to scratch the back of his thighs when he was tired.  He'd have scratch marks too.  But he stopped after awhile.  She doesn't seem to be growing out of it.  Their doctors said it's probably nuerological....like an ocd thing for babies.  I hope she grows out of it soon and that we don't end up having to treat her for something else, like eczema.  Poor thing.  Any ideas?  I've been using Cetaphil on her, but it doesn't seem to help either.

Here, you can see it on her upper chest. (atleast she's happy, right??)

Her upper back is the worst.

Try eucerine cream (in a tub) for the dryness and just a little bit of hydrocortizone for itching.

I'm not an expert on eczema. But I would think if she had it you would see dry, red skin before she scratches. The baby ocd thing makes more sense to me based on her behavior you are describing.

yay for sharing rooms! my kids share and it's been good for them. a little hard sometimes, but good overall.
poor allie! we always loved eucerin. we used the stuff that was like a Vaseline consistency. good stuff. good luck. :)

I think so too, Tristan. Just because it's the exact same thing Cam used to do. And it's those same spots...it's not all over her body.

It's not on her face either. Everyone I know who has suffered from eczema has had it on their face more than anywhere else.

Rylee has eczema and it is not on her face, it is usually in the creases of her elbows and behind her knees and then down the back of her thighs...we have been using Aveeno lotion and it has helped lots!

Nichole, I read that it usually shows up in the creases like that. Allie just has it on her back and front...like her trunk. No signs of redness or itching on her arms or legs. She never scratches her face or head either. I'm really thinking it's just a nervous habit. It just looks awful...

Mikayla has eczema on her legs, mostly behind her knees and on her calfs. Poor Allie. Those scratches look like they hurt.

We LOVE gold bond healing lotion. Might sooth her skin? But you may just have to keep those nails as short as you can for now...
And CUTE name letters!!

We ALL have sensitive skin except Mark!! The number one thing I have narrowed it down too is a chemical found in most soaps, bubbles for bubble baths and shampoo, especially baby soaps!!! Sodium Laureth Sulfate. You will notice a big difference in her skin if you stop using it. I promise!! Hard water will also irritate sensitive skin. Poor Allie....trust me...try it! If you want me to give you the soaps and shampoos we use, I will! Look up Sodium Laureth Sulfate online.

Isaac has that on the back of his legs. The doc said it was no big deal but it always makes me nervous. It get worse when he's playing in the sun.
