Buffy, Biff & Roo

Just call my son BIFF.

My freshman, sophomore & senior years of high school, I played tennis.  For some reason, my nickname on the team in Oregon became "Buffy".  My friend Gavin was also on the team.  One day he smacked himself in the face with his own racket and had a black eye for days.  Hilarious.  We called him "Biff" for the rest of the season.

Well Cam didn't smack himself with his own tennis racket, but he certainly biffed it on his bike last night.  He was flying down the hill, just like he's done a hundred times when suddenly he started swerving the handle bars all over the place.  I was standing at the top watching in fear as he completely flipped the bike over.  It was an awful moment as a mother to have to sprint over to your screaming child hoping that there are no major injuries.  Luckily he escaped with nothing but a nasty scrape on his elbow.

Today we got Cam's acceptance letter to the Headstart Preschool program here at the U.  So relieved to have that all set up and ready to go!  He starts on September 13.  The school is about 30 seconds from our door...you can see the school from the kids' bedroom window.  I LOVE that I won't have to load kids up in the car to take him or pick him up.  He'll go Mon-Thurs from 12:30-3:45.  Logan got accepted too, so Kristi & I feel the need to warn their poor teacher about the two of them!  I'm so excited for Cam to have something to do each day...especially in the Winter!  I'll put Roo down for her nap after I walk him down, and then I'll be a free momma for a few hours!  Maybe my apartment will actually get cleaned!?

And I'm excited to have some quality one-on-one time with this little pookie before we add a 3rd to our family.  She'll be at such a fun age to really play with and go on some Mommy-daughter outings.  Sometimes I feel like I don't even remember the past 18 months with her.  She's growing up SO fast, and I am anxious to make some memories with just the two of us.

Sweet Cam!

I'm making more of an effort to have one-on-one time with each of our kids. Jack and Lainey have kind of fused into the same kid......close in age, so they are always together. It's so fun to take just one of the three somewhere!

Congrats Cam! I'm sure he's going to enjoy spending time with his own peers and still know that mama is right next door. That little girl of yours is just precious!

Poor guy! That looks awful! I'm glad you said that about Roo - I feel like the past 18 mos have flown by and my baby has grown up - I keep thinking, how have I missed her growing up? I've been right here but it just seems to have flown by. So sad. That's awesome you'll have some mommy/daughter time. I need to find a way to do that with my baby too, my daughter will be in school but I'll still have her big bro home. :)
