Nate got his student teaching placement. He'll be teaching US History and Psychology at West High School until next April! Very exciting! It was Fall Break this week from school, but he picked up more work hours and is also attending a 2-day Teacher's Seminar, so he's been gone 24-7. Wow, he works so hard for his family and loves us so much. Cam, Roo & I are so lucky to have him taking care of us. We love waiting and watching for him to walk across the lawn every evening and pounce on him when he walks in (Mommy gets first dibs!). There is now a chance that we might stay here longer...if Nate gets a teaching job in Salt Lake County, we might just stay here at the U and get his Master's Degree now instead of waiting a few years. At first the thought made me upset because I'm really ready to move on...but the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of just hurrying and getting school completely over with instead of having to re-apply and go back! He'd be working full-time, so he'd have to do night classes....and it would be an INSANE year for him...but it might just be a good thing for us. But...if he gets a job outside of SLC, then who knows! We'll see! I was reading in 1 Nephi last night, and this verse comforted me:
"And I will also be your light in the wilderness; and I will prepare the way before you, if it so be that ye shall keep my commandments; wherefore, inasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments ye shall be led towards the promised land; and ye shall know that it is by me that ye are led.
Wherefore, I, Nephi, did strive to keep the commandments of the Lord." -1 Nephi 17: 13 & 15.
So like Nephi, I am striving to keep the commandments, and I have faith that our family will be led to the 'promised land'....which I'd like to think is Tennessee, haha, jk!! Wherever we end up, we will have the peaceful reassurance that the Lord led us there by His loving hand.
