Our Monkey

2010 has been such a fun year for our Cameron.  He has accomplished SO much....and now we get to check yet another item off the 'list' of kid accomplishments!  Monkey Bars!  The very first day of school last month, he asked me to help him across before we went home.  So then, before and after school every day, I'd have to hold his legs while he waddled across the bars.  I figured maybe by next Spring, he'd learn how to go across by himself.  I keep underestimating my son!  He surprised me last week by yelling, "Look, Mom!"....and he flew across by himself!  He's so determined when he wants to accomplish something.  It consumes him, and he tries and tries until he can do it.  I admire this about him so much, because he certainly didn't pick that up from his mother!

I am SO sore today.  I'm really out of shape, so the past 2 days of classes have killed me!  I honestly can't walk!  I have been sore from runs and things before, but never like this.  Before today, the most I beat my body to the ground was Day Three in Nepal....the Stone Staircase.  That hurt.  Yesterday, we did this awesome (torture) routine where we started with 10 push-ups.  Then we did 10 push-ups and 10 squats.  Then we did 10 push-ups, 10 squats, and 10 tricep curls.  We kept adding on until we hit 10 levels.  So at the end, we'd done 100 push-ups, 90 squats, 80 tricep curls, 70 bench presses, etc etc.  Get it?  Holy cow, it was insane.  So glad it's the weekend so I can rest!

And this is just my pretty little girl, who lately thinks that waking up at 6 am and shrieking at the top of her lungs for an hour is a good idea.  I apologize to our downstairs neighbors...gotta put an end to this somehow!  Yeah, she's not all sugar!  I'd say about 99% sugar, 1% spice!!

Love the monkey bar pics. I tried these not too long ago and I was not successful. Used to fly all over them as a child!

I'll blame carrying 3 children. Or, my lack of exercise.

Been meaning to tell you that I love Roo's intense look on your header. And, Cam adoring her. Couldn't be more perfect!

Haha, yeah Hon, you're right. The spice keeps making an appearance more and more....We should call her Roo Spice.

Although she did sleep in until 7:30 this morning....thank you Roo!
