Sugarhouse Park

Yesterday after preschool, I loaded up the kids and drove a short 10 minutes to Sugarhouse Park.  In the 3 years we've lived in Salt Lake City, WHY have we only come here once??  I'm in love.

I'm on a personal quest to fall in love with Utah.

I'm kicking myself for not taking my camera, because right now all of those trees are turning gorgeous, vivid Autumn colors.  We went with Elizabeth, Ariana & Alex.  We stood right there on the water's edge and fed bread to the masses of geese, ducks....and those blasted seagulls kept getting most of it.  The kids were absolutely delighted, Allie kept yelling "Hi Birdie! Hi Duck! Hi Goose!" over and over.

Well, the bread-feeding frenzy was over quickly due to the fact that Cameron kept eating it, none of the kids had the patience to break off "little" pieces, and then one goose grabbed an entire slice right out of Elizabeth's hand!  Cam & Ariana took off towards the playground, and we let the kids play there for an hour.  They had so much fun!

When we left, Cameron buckled himself into his carseat by himself for the first time (yay! It's a tricky puzzle buckle, so the kid has been working on it for months!  I'm excited to not have to go to his side of the van anymore, ha!).  So I told him he is awesome, and Roo said, "Awesome!"  She literally mimics everything we say lately, it's fun!  Cam and I will take turns making her say any word we can think of.  My favorite word she says right now is Monkey, because she says, "Unkey".  I make her say it over and over because I think it's SO stinkin' adorable!!!

I then dragged them to the grocery store (where I bought some pumpkin egg nog, oh yum!!) and by the time we came home, they were exhausted and starving, so they scarfed down their dinners and went right to bed.  I always assume that Cam is too tired after preschool to go do anything, but he's like the Energizer Bunny....so apparently I need to plan more evening activities.

Good for you for getting out and enjoying that gorgeous state you live in. I have seen some beautiful places in my life, but Utah is at the top of my list. Enjoy it, Becca! I know you can.

We love making Isaac say stuff. And I hope you fed the ducks healthy bread. That really happened to a lady in England. She got in trouble for feeding the ducks white bread.

Yeah DeAnn, I thought about making her say 'zygote', but it just wouldn't have been funny without you!!

Of course...you know we don't have any white bread in our house...yuck! Healthy ducks, they'll be!!

So fun! I have never been down to that park before, it's beautiful! We always have the same issue when feeding ducks. Cameron eats all of the "duck food" :) Silly guys. We either bring popped corn or bread or oyster crackers and it's gobbled up by my kids faster than the ducks.
