Baby Burrito

Well, we've had Claire in our lives for a week now.  We love her so so so much, and I can't imagine our family without her.  Physically, my recovery has been a little rough, but I feel sooo good emotionally, which is such a blessing.  I had such severe postpartum depression after Cameron, and it was the worst 4 months of my life.  I never want to feel that way again, so I obviously got nervous when both Roo and Claire's births approached.  I'm so grateful that I have felt so much peace and joy and confidence following the girls' births.  Answered prayers for sure!!

Anyway, a few things about Miss Claire, since this is my journal.  The first two nights home, she was pretty fussy at night.  She didn't have a very big appetite either, only eating about every 5-6 hours.  But the past 3 days, she has started eating every 3 hours and really hasn't made a peep!!!  We wrap her up like a burrito at night, so cute.  She still sleeps most of the day, but when she's awake, she's very alert and active.  She is STRONG.  If I hold her upright on my shoulder, she'll lift her head and hold it there.  If she's on her tummy, she is really busy too, she almost rolled right over the other day!  SO.....I'm thinking she's going to be an active kid!!

My family took Cam to Glenwood for the rest of the week, and Nate's mom took Roo.  I miss them like crazy already, but I am going to soak up these few days of peace and quiet before I have to 'officially begin' life as a mom of 3 next week!  I am doing nothing today, tomorrow & Friday, but sit in my bathrobe and snuggle and nurse my baby.  I am so in love with her.

Claire's newborn pics coming soon.....can't wait to see them!!

Her little hand next to her face is just super cute! Glad you have some time to just relax and soak up her newborn days. I'm SURE the big kids will also soak up their special time with the grandparents! What a neat idea...
