Twelve Weeks.
That sounds like a long time, but in running, that's crunch time!!
I've written up a set plan that I started on Monday. Mondays are my long runs. Wednesdays & Saturdays are my 3-4 mile "maintenance" runs. Fridays are Intervals (sprinting work), every other week of which will be up a massive hill behind my building. Those are NOT going to be fun! But I will do them. I will also continue to work on my arms and abs, especially on Tues & Thurs.
Even though I wrote it in pencil, I'm treating it like STONE. Absolutely NO excuses. Snow or shine!!
This morning I got my wool gear on, strapped on my headlamp and YakTrax and off I went! It was GREAT!! There was a light snow falling, and there wasn't much traffic yet, so it was peaceful and so beautiful out.
I love this 'mountain' ahead of me. It's my personal quest, and I have felt amazing as I figure out how to tackle it. The ONLY person who can do this for me...is ME! I have to put in the time and energy and mileage. No one can do this for me. There is no easy way out. I'm going to do this!! Crossing that finish line on April 20 is going to feel incredible. I can't wait!
