Biker Chick

Today was a nice, sunny day outside, so Nate and I shot some hoops while Roo rode her bike and scooter around.  We always like to take turns shooting 10 free-throws while the other keeps score and rebounds.  The very first time we did this, I got 8/10.  Since then, I usually average about 4/10.  Lame.

Anyway, Roo was riding her scooter, and I was watching how she could put both feet on the scooter and glide along for quite awhile.  I immediately thought, "That girl is ready to try a two-wheeler."

So Nate got out the tools and took off her training wheels.  She uses the same little bike that Cam used to ride.  It's perfect for kids because it keeps them really close to the ground.  They aren't scared of tipping over.  We told Allie that we would hold on to the back and be right with her, and she told us to leave her alone!!  She wanted to go by herself!  So we got her started, and Nate let go...and she took off!  Bam!  Just like that!  She can already push off and start by herself, too.  So proud of her!

By the way, right before all this, she asked me to tape some paper towels to her back as a cape.  Maybe that was just the magic she needed!!  Super Roo!!
