This morning while Nater and kids were sound asleep, I dragged myself out of my warm, snuggly bed at 6:50 and went running. Sarah has turned out to be the best running partner I could have asked for. We're just so the same, I love her! We have so much to chat about, and I have loved getting to know her better over the past few weeks. We're not very good runners....we're slow and usually can't breathe....but we love it. Some good kid-free girlie time to start off the day! See ya in the morning, Sarah!! I also got to watch her cutie daughter, Camille, this morning while she went to Costco. Kids & Costco don't mix! Camille is a doll, and my kids loved her too. It's friends like Sarah & Camille (and about a zillion others I could mention) that make living here at the U Housing just so so wonderful. Wouldn't rather be anywhere else right now.
Nate is off school this week for Spring Break. Woohoo! So excited. We didn't get to spend much time together today though...he had a doctor appt this morning, and then I went grocery shopping (my other kid-free weekly excursion!), and then he had to work.
My absolute treat of the day was when my most favorite mission companion, Melver, called me and said she was in Salt Lake and had time to swing by before she caught her flight home. YAY!!! I haven't seen her in nearly a year, and I was so excited! She came over this afternoon, and I think we started laughing the minute we saw each other! We chilled with the kids, chatted a little, and then busted out the mission journals and scrapbooks. Oh heavens...about peed my pants. I love this girl so so much!! She's quite the seasoned traveller and brought me some hilarious 'bad English' t-shirts from Asia. Before she left, we wanted to get a picture together, but there was no one to take it....except Cameron! He kept moving the camera all over, and we were jumping around trying to stay in front of him, hilarious. We were laughing SO hard. This was the best he could do, poor kid:
I was immediately sad after my dear friend left. Come back Melboh....Saranghey.
The rest of the afternoon was sort of frustrating. It started raining...Cam peed in his underwear...Roo is teething, so she only wanted to be held...I managed to get dinner made, but while I was at the stove, I heard an awful *thud* followed by Cam screaming and running into the kitchen. I could already see a big bruise forming on his forehead. He seems to be ok....but he wanted to go to sleep. Both kids were completely out like lights before 6:30.
I love bedtime. Our bedtime routine makes me smile. The kids get in their jammies, and then we head to Allie's room. Cam sits on the hope chest, and I hold Roo (with her cup of milk) on the glider.
1. We sing two songs...I pick the first one, and then Cam insists on singing "I Am A Child of God" by himself for the 2nd one.....Roo always sits perfectly still and stares at him, it's adorable.
2. We talk briefly about the scriptures....I'm reading the Book of Mormon to them....but I'm more telling it than reading it. It's amazing what little things Cam is already soaking up.
3. We "kee-doh"...pray. Cam also likes to do this himself every night. He's really sweet about thinking about what we did that day and being grateful for it. He always talks really slow and enunciates every word. It's kind of hard not to laugh because he's just focusing SO hard.
4. "Boh-Poh" time...kisses!! The kids kiss each other, Cam kisses me, I kiss him, I kiss Roo....and on weekends, Nate joins the smoochy group. Watching Allie's face when Cam smothers her cheeks with kisses is priceless. Makes all the crazy moments worth it. If you tell Allie to give you a boh-poh, she usually just head-butts you. But with Cam, she'll stick her lips out and wait for him....she really really loves him so much.
Then Roo lies down, we let Cam play computer games for a few minutes, then we brush his teeth, give him his binkies, and he dives into bed. The silence is bliss...!!
Allie loves to pray, this is what she does when you say 'Allie, kee-doh!":
Nate just walked in...Hi Honey! Tonight I'm watching Dancing With the Stars. I normally don't. It looks obnoxious to me, and I've never watched it before. But I couldn't resist watching Jake and Kate.... the awkwardness is entertaining!
Goodnight!!

Thanks for the compliment. I love reading your stories.
How do you read the Book of Mormon to your kids? I was unable to read to Gwen when she was a baby but I want to start in the fall when Parker goes to school. Do they just sit in your lap or what?
Between laughing at our mission pictures, our haircuts, the crazy hilarious stories and memories, and Cam taking pictures,
I haven't laughed that hard in AGES. miss ya
I love when little ones fold their arms--so cute! You're a good mom Bec!!
Tristan, I keep meaning to get over to Deseret and get a children's Book of Mormon to use because Cam loves the pictures....we have it in Korean. But so far I've just been using my childhood scriptures...I have some picture stickers in there that Cam likes to see. So we are just going through and talking about the stories...the brass plates, the broken bow, etc. We talk about them and then what we can learn. A lot about how following the commandments keeps us safe and happy....how we can pray when we need help....things like that. Sometimes I'll read a specific scripture, just so they get used to hearing them too.
Hi arn. Cutie kids. I love reading your blog.
I love the picture of Allie folding her arms, so cute!
I am going to try to make our blog more of a journal, too. I ordered a blog book a few weeks ago and it just came in the mail yesterday. I love it! It totally makes blogging so meaningful and worthwhile!
