Our Glenwood Weekend

We went to Glenwood for Memorial Day weekend.  Michelle & Sam, my parents, and Steve & Andrea & kids were all there.  We enjoyed lots of outdoor time, a great BBQ at my aunt Pat & uncle Glen's, games, I got plenty of reading in, Nate went mountain biking with Steve and running with my dad, attended the Glenwood ward on Sunday where the Church members are always so welcoming.  So nice to get away from everything and be in our own little heaven.

It took us 4 hours to get to Glenwood due to traffic, a pee stop, and bad weather.  But we made it, and I've never seen a little boy more excited to jump out of the car and get going!
This little dude loves Glenwood.

Grandpa introduced Roo to the 4-wheelers.  She loved them and would run up and hold on to the side until you put her on.  Both kids couldn't get enough rides.

Lots of rides with my kiddos.  I spent SO much of my own childhood in Glenwood, so it melts my heart to watch my babies start to make memories here too.

Ivy & Roo playing in the water.

Steve & my dad rigged up a zipline in the field.  I think all of us moms had a few minor heart attacks, but the kids had a blast!  I think we've got ourselves yet another Glenwood Tradition!

Cam was nervous, but he put on a brave face and tried it out!

Andrew was the Zipline King.

My dad also rigged one of the 4-wheelers to put a carseat on the back.  Hilarious.  But Ivy & Roo loved it!  Cam was awesome on this trip.  He went with Nate, my dad & Sam on some long 20-mile rides up mountains.  We obviously kept the babies on flat roads, like this one!

When we weren't out 4-wheeling or ziplining, we were in the yard playing sports.  Football, frisbee, baseball, just to name a few.  So much fun!  Frisbee has become my and Nate's favorite...we play in the evenings when he doesn't work, so it was fun to have 3 whole days to play as much as we wanted.

On Memorial Day morning, we went over to my aunt Trish and uncle Dick's house for his famous breakfast.  Lots more relatives came, and it was fun to visit.  The food was amazing...fried eggs, biscuits, gravy, pancakes, bacon, ham, potatoes....uncle Dick wouldn't stop piling up our plates!  Then we explored his property...including puppies, chicks, horses, kitties.  Then uncle Dick got out the guns, which Nate was really excited about!  Cam even got to pull the trigger once.
Always tough to come back down to reality after a fun Glenwood weekend.  We're all completely sunburnt and exhausted, but relaxed and happy!  We're hoping to get a few Glenwood trips in this summer.

I'm a tiny bit jealous. Your weekend sounds like my weekends spent up in MT at my Uncle's house. One day I hope to live everyday of my life in a place like Glenwood, where life is a lot slower and the kids can run free. I'm glad you had a fun time.

And we just got back from quadding! It's our favorite thing to do up here! I like the car seat rig. That's a handy little feature.
